In Chinese tradition, a full moon symbolizes family reunion,

especially the one in mid-autumn.  Around the end of the Yuan dynasty,

the Han people in China tried to overthrown the mongolian government.

They found a smart way to spread the news:

they hid a small piece of paper in each moon cake calling people to rise

against tyranny on the night of mid-autumn. This is why people eat

moon cakes on this special night of full moon ever since.
